Description: Customs’ January 2, 2008, proposed “10+2″ Cargo Security Filing rule is considered one of the most significant changes to our industry in years, and will have a substantial impact on Importers and Customs brokers, alike. Although the comment period closed March 18, 2008, CBP stated that it wants to implement this program as soon as possible. Because of this, Importers need to understand what will be expected of them, and to discuss with vendors and supply chain partners how to obtain and verify the accuracy of the required data elements 24 hours prior to loading containers on vessels. George Tuttle, Esq., of George Tuttle Law Offices will discuss this new rule, and how it may affect your company. This presentation will review various aspects of the Importer Security Filing data requirements, including: data elements, comments and concerns of the trade, significant new compliance obligations imposed upon importers and their agent filers, and potential liabilities for inaccurate data provided by the importer and/or the filing agent
Additional Info: Please RSVP to Marcia Davis no later than April 15, 2008
